Blair O’Donovan has been training athletes in the DMV area for over 20 years. He has been apart of several prestigious events such as the Jordan Brand Classic, McDonalds All-American Games, Nike Skills Academy Camps for Lebron James, Steve Nash and Vince Carter, as well Nike’s All-Asia Camps in China. Locally he worked with the basketball team Montrose Christian School, and in 2006 he began training the basketball team at Gonzaga College High School in Washington, D.C. where he met a skinny sophomore named Wes Dunning who was a member of the program. In 2008, Wes’s senior year, Gonzaga had their best season in school history finishing with a 34-1 record, Washington Catholic Athletic Conference(WCAC) championship, Washington D.C. City Title, #1 local ranking in the Washington Post and consensus top 5 ranking in the country!

After success at Gonzaga, Wes would go on to play at the college level. He attended Hampton University where he played at the Division 1 level from 2009-2013 enjoying a lot of success including a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) tournament championship and birth in the NCAA March Madness “Big Dance” Tournament! Wes interned with the Strength & Conditioning staff at Hampton during his senior year which continued to spark his interest in the Sports Performance side of the game. Shortly after his playing career ended, Wes would re-unite with Blair when he joined the Healthy Baller fam in 2015!

In 2012 Blair founded Healthy Baller, and in 2013 he joined forces with another one of his former trainees turned Strength & Conditioning Coach, Matt Boyd, to become business partners and co-owners of the company so they could collaborate to train an abundance top athletes in the DMV area and around the world. He would continue to make an impact in the hoops world through his work with local high school and college players, NBA Draft prospects and globally at the Nike All-Asia Camps. When Wes joined in 2015, they would continue to grow the basketball side of the business. In 2018, Blair accepted a position to join the Washington Wizards as Director of Player Preparation where we he would work with the top athletes in the basketball profession. While Blair was working in the NBA, Wes created the HB Hoopers Summer Program in 2018 for High School and College basketball players to have an off-season group training environment that would adequately prepare them to play optimally on the court!

Since returning back to Healthy Baller full-time in 2020, Blair re-joined Wes to help expand the HB Hoopers’ culture throughout all of the Healthy Baller locations, online programming and so much more to create a valuable experience for basketball athletes that go beyond the sets and reps in the weight room and court to help them get the most out of their game!
